Fall GOALS!



    In both ancient 


and 

modern times, 

        observing the cycle of the seasons has been important to many people.

A time of celebration!

Community.

And...

Tomorrow on 9/21,

              we begin cycle of going in, and retreat with the darker time of the year.

The holiday of the autumnal equinox, 


the time of our great Harvest Home, 

fall solstice!

Also known as Mabon!




Typically, FALL IS MY FAVORITE SEASON.

As I am a fall baby after all. Like I need a reason to celebrate life...
Naturally, I want to celebrate the season,

 full of celebrations~!



However, this year, I have found...


I am digging in my heels...just a little.
I want more summer!!!




     I can't say this helps,
                               and so I will go with the flow of nature, 
and accept our decrease in daylight, cold..wet, and grey months ahead, that Seattle consistently provides.




      With the change in the seasons, I see a rise in the same injury each time of year.


"I woke up with neck pain"

"My neck will not move"




     In ancient times, the Chinese believed that the wind would get caught in your neck if a draft or cold breeze crossed over your neck while sleeping. 
*This can happen in the Spring, and the Fall because of drop in temperature at night, and with warmer temps in the day, often people will sleep with their windows open, thus the breeze over the neck, with drop in temp at night, causing the pain, and lack of range of motion in the neck.

Or at least, this is one theory!




            For this I recommend:

       Typically, I will set up a vacation, to Hawaii, the Big Island, I stay in Kona, and a bikini is the only thing I want to wear.

This makes me so very HAPPY.



Fall equals:

Foods with sugars, and alcohol, and over indulgence, and ...parties, and lack of sleep, and kids with just as booked schedules...and induced stress of holiday gifts, with lack of financial planning...and you name it.
Now, shift focus to later focused:

 *To provide a goal, 
LIKE me: I need warm weather, and a bikini! 

Maybe you need this too?
maybe it is something else, like skiing?!!

     When involved around the holidays, with social events...packed calendars, when it is cold, 
....and we all want to hibernate...
so to
Look ahead is to succeed, instead of cleaning up after yourself come the spring!

  two reasons I set these goals/rituals where I can be successful:

1- The weather can get to me mentally and emotionally. (I like sunshine, and I like to be warm).

2-It is always great to have a goal; and if bikini is the goal, I have to take care of my body, way before the bikini, and beach happen. 

*It has been working out very well for me to create two bikini vacations annually,  keeping my body weight down, and stress levels lowered, and mood improved.
Know yourself, to create a life of balance.

     This in turn creates happiness within. 

For me, it provides deep relaxed calm with, and reflecting restored outside.

... and I never get to let myself GO.
